An office building in Barrington avenue had a more than 20-year old cooling tower, of which needed a major overhaul. During the previous maintenance, all internal components such as fill, drift eliminator, louvers, and their supports were either completely removed or replaced with aftermarket components. The replacement of the original manufacturer fills with aftermarket fills had unfortunately decreased the performance of the cooling tower, costing the building hundreds of dollars in energy usage.
The property management was concerned about the potential duration of the project, as these repairs were to take place over the sweltering 4th of July weekend. They didn’t want to open the building the following week without necessary A/C flowing throughout the offices.
Our team was met with a welcomed challenge to successfully remove all damaged internals, remove excessive rust that had built up over many years, sand, pressure wash, prime, install a new tower fill, and line the internals with a special waterproof sealant. They also rebuilt the tower and completed this extensive project all within a four day weekend!
A/C Control was able to finish the job in three days and our client was very pleased to experience their fully functioning HVAC system running smoother than it had in years!
